A hot meal system for elementary school students has started operating in two districts of Odesa, while two more districts are finalizing their tender procurement processes.
Today, on November 14, Odesa's mayor, Hennadii Trukhanov, inspected the meal organization and engaged with students and parents at one of the largest schools in the Kyiv district.
The mayor also participated in a school training exercise conducted during alerts. Recently, the school completed work to increase its shelter capacity.
"Every day, nearly 2000 children learn here, attending classes in shifts to comply with safety requirements. Previously, the school shelter could accommodate only 250 people. This was insufficient for such an institution. A decision was made to expand it, and all necessary conditions were provided. Today, the shelter can hold twice as many people", - summarized Odesa's mayor Hennadii Trukhanov.
