The launch of a new educational program will commence at the start of the upcoming academic year. Odessa's mayor, Gennadiy Trukhanov, and the rector of ONU, Vyacheslav Truba, have signed a cooperation agreement. This initiative is led by the Department of Education and Science of the Odessa City Council, aimed at encouraging youth to engage in the study of natural sciences.

Under the agreement, schools will be able to enter into individual contracts with the university for attracting lecturers in physics and other natural science subjects. The collaboration will cover both pre-profile training (grades 7-9) and profile education (grades 10-11). Additionally, there are plans to organize research activities with students who show abilities in these fields.

The city council noted that the Institute of Physics has the necessary resources—specialists and equipped laboratories—to ensure high-quality education. Meanwhile, schools are lacking qualified teachers in natural sciences, particularly physicists, so this project aims to partially address staffing issues in educational institutions.
