In the Odessa region, the fight for the health and lives of patients continues every day. The regional authorities are actively supporting these efforts.
The first deputy head of the Odessa OVA, Oleksandr KHARLOV, along with the director of the Department of Health, Oksana ROKUNETS-SOROCHAN, visited two medical institutions that provide people with the chance to live, heal, and smile.
Odessa Regional Oncology Center
During the visit, the state of the equipment and the conditions under which patients undergo radiation therapy were examined — a critical stage of treatment.
As part of the Medical Guarantee Program, patients receive free:
- consultation with an oncologist;
- CT scan (Siemens GoSim);
- precise marking and stable fixation for radiation therapy.
Each radiation session is not just a procedure, but a fight for a new dawn, for a life without pain.
Odessa Regional Children's Clinical Hospital — the updated department of child psychiatry
Since July 1, 2025, the only modern inpatient child psychiatry department in the region has been operating here. Every day, an equally important battle takes place here — for the emotional well-being of children, for their right to a happy childhood.
The department has 25 beds, modern equipment, and a team of specialists — from psychiatrists to speech therapists. This place is not just about treatment; it's about understanding, warmth, and returning to life without fear.
Although renovations are still ongoing, comprehensive care is already being provided. Inclusion, accessibility, and telemedicine are in action. Dozens of children have already completed treatment or are currently under professional supervision.
During the visits, discussions were held with doctors about pressing issues and future plans. By changing conditions, we change reality and give a chance for a better life.
