The rehabilitation department of Odesa City Hospital No. 8 is celebrating its 10th anniversary. The service began in 2015 when rehabilitation beds were established in one of the therapeutic wards. Later, a separate building underwent substantial renovations, and modern rehabilitation equipment was acquired.
The department offers both inpatient care and outpatient rehabilitation for patients with musculoskeletal disorders, neurological diseases, and those recovering from strokes.
In the first nine months of this year, the hospital provided nearly 500 outpatient rehabilitation services, with over 200 patients undergoing inpatient rehabilitation. These services are offered free of charge under the state medical guarantee program.
The department is continually evolving and acquiring modern rehabilitation equipment. This year, with the support of local authorities, the hospital received new equipment, including an automatic treadmill with support, devices for passive rehabilitation of limbs, and stair-climbing simulators.
Hospital staff regularly participate in training, gaining new knowledge and attending scientific and practical conferences, seminars, and rehabilitation workshops. Additionally, in collaboration with the relevant department at Odesa National Medical University, the hospital trains resident doctors in the field of physical and rehabilitation medicine.
Modern equipment, the implementation of cutting-edge technologies, and continuous professional development of medical staff enable effective rehabilitation assistance, particularly critical during wartime when there is an increased need for medical rehabilitation for Ukraine's defenders.
