From February 2 to 6, 2026, Odesa will hold a Cancer Prevention and Early Detection Week.
This event is organized with the support of the Health Department of the Odesa City Council and the Odesa City Health Center, in connection with World Cancer Day, celebrated annually on February 4.
During this week, everyone is invited to visit their family doctors, who will provide preventive examinations and, if necessary, issue electronic referrals for cancer screenings: breast ultrasound or mammography for women, Pap test for women, PSA test for men, stool test for hidden blood, fluorography or X-ray examination of the chest organs.
To undergo free preventive examinations, it is necessary to contact your family doctor with whom a declaration has been signed. If you do not have a declaration, you can sign one with a family doctor at the health facility you approached for preventive examinations.
Timely diagnosis allows for the detection of precancerous conditions and malignant neoplasms at early stages, which can be successfully treated.
