The Health Department of the Odesa City Council, in collaboration with the City Health Center, is actively conducting preventive measures for timely diagnostics and prevention of common diseases in the city's medical facilities. Over 1000 residents participated in the health events throughout November.

Last week, a Day of Prevention and Early Detection of Eye Diseases was held for both adults and children at healthcare facilities in Odesa. A total of 360 adults and 252 children underwent preventive ophthalmological examinations, leading to the identification of over 400 cases of eye diseases, including:

✔️103 cases of retinal diseases;

✔️37 cases of cataracts;

✔️17 cases of glaucoma and other vision-related issues.
In addition, in honor of International Radiologist Day, Odesa's medical professionals conducted a Day of Prevention and Early Diagnosis of Respiratory Diseases. As a result, 427 individuals were screened, including:

✔️229 individuals underwent fluorography;

✔️198 patients had X-ray examinations.

This allowed for the first detection of 18 cases of respiratory diseases, including 6 suspected tuberculosis cases, 7 cases of pneumonia, 5 cases of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and 1 case of emphysema.
All patients with identified health issues have been referred to specialized professionals.
