Recently, the Ukrainian Hockey Championship 2025/2026 commenced. This season, five teams are competing in the national league, two of which hail from Kyiv. Here’s the list of participants:
- HC «Kremenchuk» (Kremenchuk, Poltava region)
- HC «Sokil» (Kyiv)
- HC «Kryzhynka-Capitalz» (Kyiv)
- HC «Storm» (Odesa)
- HC «Odeshchyna» (Odesa)
This season introduces some changes. Unfortunately, the Kherson team «Dnipro» is not participating this time, but a new team has emerged — HC «Odeshchyna». Interestingly, the vice-champion from Kyiv, the club «Kyiv Capitalz», has registered its main team in the Baltic Hockey League, while their farm team «Kryzhynka-Capitalz» remains in the Ukrainian Championship, consisting of young players and those not included in the main squad.
The Kyiv team «Sokil» played their first match against «Storm» from Odesa and secured a comeback victory, despite trailing by two goals during the game.
«SOKIL» — «STORM» — 3:2 (0:1, 1:1, 2:0)
«KREMENCHUK» — «KRYZHYNKA-CAPITALZ» — 6:1 (4:0; 0:1; 2:0)
Kryzhynka-Capitalz will play their next match on Wednesday, October 15, against «Storm». «Sokil» will face «Odeshchyna» the following day.
