At the World Short Course Swimming Championships currently taking place in Budapest, Dynamo athlete Vadim Naumenko has successfully reached the semi-finals.

During the 200 meters individual medley qualification, he also set a new national record with a finish time of 1:55.35 minutes.

Trained by Oleksandra Kurbanova and Vadym Peniazenko, Vadim improved his previous record set at the European Championships in Romania in 2023.

In the 100 meters individual medley, the 21-year-old from Odesa clocked in at 53.07 seconds, placing him 14th overall and securing a spot among the top 16 semi-finalists.

Additionally, he broke the national record set by Oleg Lisyhor on December 11, 2005, at the European Championships in Trieste, Italy.

The semi-final heats will take place today, December 12, in the evening.
