From October 11 to 14, 2024, the Czech city of Jablonec nad Nisou hosted the international trampoline tournament known as the «Friendship Cup». A total of 380 athletes from 12 countries participated in the event.
The Ukrainian national team was represented by athletes Sofia Alarova and Veronika Pyatakova from the Comprehensive Children and Youth Sports School No. 1 in Odesa.
Trained by coaches Regina Brailova and Liliya Zakolodyazhna, the athletes earned three medals at the tournament.
Sofia Alarova secured second place in the individual jumps, achieving a remarkable score of 53.410 points, marking her highest career achievement. She was only behind Jessica Stevens from the USA, who scored 54.600 points.
In synchronized jumps, Alarova and Pyatakova placed seventh in qualifying (43.750), but their outstanding performance in the final earned them bronze medals (46.050).
Earlier this March, they also became bronze medalists of the World Cup in Alkmaar, Netherlands.
A total of 54 young athletes are engaged in trampoline training at the Comprehensive Children and Youth Sports School No. 1.
