Google Maps introduces new features that assist users in gathering more information about locations before visiting, finding available charging stations for electric vehicles, and other useful functionalities.
Now, when users search for a restaurant, hotel, or other venue, they can access more helpful information through the Gemini AI. This system collects reviews and tips on how to best make reservations or where to park conveniently.
The feature "Know before you go" is currently available to users in the USA on both Android and iOS platforms.
Another new feature is the ability to see available charging spots for electric vehicles. Previously, Google Maps only marked charging station locations, but now it will also show the approximate number of available points. This update will gradually roll out over the next few weeks for Android Auto and cars with built-in Google systems worldwide.
Additionally, Google Maps will include an 'Explore' tab that assists in finding new interesting places. It will showcase popular and trending restaurants or events nearby, and users can browse them by simply swiping through options. This update will be available to users around the globe.
Furthermore, users will be able to leave reviews under nicknames. They can choose an avatar and name that match their review style. Meanwhile, the system will continue to track suspicious and fake ratings to prevent abuse. This update will later be available in both the mobile app and the web version of Google Maps.
