At CES 2026, Takway.Ai unveiled a groundbreaking virtual toy named Sweekar, which is a modern take on the classic Tamagotchi, enhanced with artificial intelligence.
Unlike traditional Tamagotchis, Sweekar can "feel" touch, remember its owner’s voice, stories, and personality traits.
The toy progresses through various stages: "egg", "childhood", "teenage years", and "adulthood", gaining new abilities and becoming more aware of its owner. The developers claim that the device can express moods – joyful, angry, sleepy, or "sneaky smile". The Sweekar egg even vibrates and "grows", providing a tactile effect.
One of the standout features of this new toy is its memory. Sweekar can remember the owner’s name, favorite color, and significant events, such as a forgotten birthday, using a combination of Gemini and ChatGPT technologies.
According to Engadget, Sweekar will be available for sale on Kickstarter starting March 2026, priced around $150-200.
