Ukraine is currently observing Barrier-Free Week, and on May 20, an important conference titled «Path to Resilience» took place in Kyiv.
The event gathered deputy ministers, UNDP representatives, as well as local leaders and civil society members.
Odessa was represented by the mayor's advisor on barrier-free issues, Oleksiy Morozov, and the secretary of the Barrier-Free Council, Director of the Internal Policy Department, Oleksandr Zhyltsov, on the mayor's orders.
During a panel discussion focused on creating accessibility in communities, participants discussed practical cases, tools, and challenges faced by Ukrainian cities.
The discussion was moderated by Tetiana Lomakina, the President's advisor on barrier-free issues.
«Barrier-free means being for and about people. We are pleased to share Odessa's experience and draw inspiration from new ideas,» noted Oleksiy Morozov.
«We have a clear understanding of how it works, as Odessa is already implementing a system based on dialogue, cooperation, and real changes visible to the people,» added Oleksandr Zhyltsov.
Odessa's experience in inclusion is becoming an integral part of the national dialogue on sustainable community development, confirming the city's commitment to accessibility and engagement.
