In the Odessa region, a 50-year-old homeless man was arrested for setting a car on fire due to a grudge against its owner. Authorities have charged him and selected a preventive measure. He faces up to 10 years in prison.

This was reported by the press service of the National Police.

Recently, emergency services contacted the police to report a fire involving a Volkswagen car on one of the streets in the Peresyp district. Within three hours, investigators determined that the arson was committed by a 50-year-old man without a permanent residence.

According to part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, this crime is punishable by up to ten years in prison. The court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention with the right to post bail of 121,120 UAH. The damage inflicted on the victim is being determined. The investigation continues under the procedural guidance of the Suvorov District Prosecutor's Office in Odessa," said Natalia Mrochko, deputy head of the investigative unit of police station No. 3 of the Odessa District Police Department No. 1.
