The restoration of the fountain "Grotto with Pool" in Istanbul Park, Odessa has commenced. This artificial grotto, which appeared on the slopes of Primorsky Boulevard in the late 19th century, originally served as a drainage system for water flowing from the nearby monument-fountain. With the development of the water supply system, its purpose changed, and it became a park feature.

During the 2017 renovation, the grotto was transformed into a fountain and handed over for maintenance to the Municipal Enterprise "Service Center".

Over the seven years since the renovation, the fountain has been affected by environmental factors. Specifically, rain and snow runoff from the slopes of Primorsky Boulevard has compromised the waterproofing of the fountain basin.

As part of the capital repair, the area will be cleared of debris, work will be done to redirect atmospheric precipitation away from the fountain perimeter, waterproofing will be executed, and the fountain basin will be faced.

The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of October 2025.
