To ensure the proper functioning of hydrosystems in Odesa, specialists from the municipal enterprise «City Roads» conduct regular maintenance work.

The buffer pond, the Romanian canal, and the Kuyalnytsia ditches serve as systems for draining rain, melt, and drainage waters from the city's streets.

Using specialized equipment, municipal workers clear the canals and ponds of vegetation, debris, and silt. They focus particularly on the most clogged areas where waste accumulates from residential sectors.

The Kuyalnytsia ditch is the main drainage channel, stretching 4650 m. It runs alongside Vapnyana and Khadjibeyska streets, leading to a pumping station through filtration fields. This ditch is responsible for draining water from neighborhoods adjacent to the mentioned streets.

Additionally, regular cleaning of storm drains and sewer collectors throughout the city is carried out. The cleaning process involves excavators, graders, and other heavy machinery from the «City Roads» enterprise.

In the event of heavy rainfall, these works are conducted on an emergency basis.
