A 22-year-old man was engaged in organizing illegal exits from the country. He has been charged and a preventive measure has been applied. The offender faces imprisonment and property confiscation. This was reported by the police.
Law enforcement agencies established that a resident of the Velykomykhailivka community was looking for men who wanted to leave the country illegally through social networks. He found two potential "clients" and offered them transportation to the border with Moldova for $5,000 each. In addition to transport, he also provided advice on the "safe" crossing of the border at night. Meeting with the clients, he transported them in his car to a border area in the Rozdilna district.
The offender was apprehended by the police near the state border after delivering the men to their destination and receiving $10,000 from them. Investigators seized the money and the vehicle, which has been arrested. Since the charge carries a penalty of property confiscation, the court may decide to confiscate the vehicle.
«The suspect has now been informed of the charges under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for organizing illegal transportation of individuals across the state border for selfish motives. This crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to nine years and confiscation of property. The court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention with the possibility of bail», - noted investigator Victoria Bondarenko.
