In Ukraine, 426 applications have been submitted by citizens for the demining of agricultural land under the state compensation program, with over 1,500 hectares cleared in 2025.
This was reported by the director of the Center for Humanitarian Demining (CHD) Volodymyr Baida during a television broadcast, as conveyed by Ukrinform.
“Currently, there is significant progress in the program. Throughout its operation, we have received 426 applications covering over 14,000 hectares of agricultural land (in the previous three years, only 3,000 hectares were cleared).
65 auctions have already been held, and contracts have been signed totaling 835 million UAH under the program. Regarding cleared territory - this year more than 1,500 hectares have been released,” he explained.
According to Baida, 3 billion UAH has been allocated for the program in 2025.
“Farmers are much more active this year. Last year, out of 85 operators, only eight participated in the auctions, whereas now there are about 20,” Baida noted.
He clarified that out of 235 applications submitted this year, 110 were rejected due to a lack of non-technical land surveys.
