February 7, 2025 marks the opening of the exhibition 'Invisible Resistance' at the Odesa National Art Museum.
This project illuminates the indomitable spirit of Ukrainians in occupied territories: resistance movements, their methods, and the significant roles of art, information, and women in the struggle, featuring real stories of resistance against Russian aggression.
During the opening, curator Olga Mukha will lead a tour of the exhibition.
Starts at 3:00 PM. Admission is free.
The exhibition will showcase: caricature figures of 'liberators' by Serhiy Zakharov that stood in the streets of Donetsk in 2014, viral memes by Maksym Palenko, video stories about the 'wounded' cultural sites in Trostianets and Okhtyrka, filmed by the Museum Crisis Center as part of the 'Wounded Culture' project, the consciousness labyrinth 'Inside Appearance' with posters by Crimea's artist Antik Danov, as well as the documentary film 'Resistance' by Akim Halimov and works by contemporary female artists.
Exclusively for this exhibition in Odesa, the third episode of the 'Wounded Culture' series will be presented — 'Odesa. Oral History'. It recounts the story of a Russian missile strike on the Odesa Art Museum on November 5, 2023, and the subsequent recovery.
The presentation of the new episode of the 'Wounded Culture' series and a discussion will take place on February 8 at 4:00 PM with the participation of the director of the 'Territory of Terror' museum, cultural expert Olga Honchar.
