The introduction of the revamped "National Defense" subject in Odesa schools, along with equipping classrooms with modern technology, has become a key focus of the education sector.

This subject aims to instill a conscious approach to national protection among the youth, emphasizing the importance of safety and emergency preparedness.

Odesa is the first city in Ukraine to establish 8 modern training centers fully equipped with necessary tools and teaching aids. Students from multiple schools will be able to learn at these centers. Classes are conducted by experienced educators who have undergone specialized training, with some having firsthand experience of wartime conditions.

High school students will learn how to respond to threats and provide first aid. Additionally, the curriculum will cover modern warfare tactics.

«In a situation where you share borders with a terrorist state, this knowledge is critically important for every Ukrainian,» emphasized Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.
