In a groundbreaking event, the Odesa Regional Clinical Hospital has performed its first-ever multi-organ donation. This was announced by the head of the OVA, Oleg Kiper.
This complex operation has saved the lives of three critically ill patients who had been waiting for this opportunity for years.
The donor was a patient suffering from a severe ischemic stroke. After a medical review confirmed brain death, the family made a brave and noble decision — they consented to the transplantation.

Thanks to this act, three individuals received a new lease on life:

  • A 49-year-old former soldier — kidney;
  • A 31-year-old internally displaced person from Kherson region — kidney;
  • A 24-year-old patient — heart.

The remarkable effort was carried out by the medical team from the transplantation and dialysis department of the Odesa Regional Clinical Hospital, alongside colleagues from the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the National Scientific Center named after O.O. Shalimov. A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in this noble mission.
