Health and social service professionals in Odessa participated in a training session aimed at early detection of developmental issues in preschool-aged children. This training was organized by the Odessa Regional Organization for Medical-Psychological-Pedagogical Assistance "Healthy Society" as part of the project "Resilient Families, Resilient Future: Transforming Child Care Systems in Odessa and Mykolaiv Regions" with support from the UNICEF.

The training aimed to further implement developmental screenings and develop protocols for successfully identifying needs and directing families to early intervention services.

Early intervention is a comprehensive interdisciplinary support approach for families with children aged from birth to four years who have developmental disorders or are at risk of such disorders. Integrating child development methods into daily life enhances the life skills of family members and helps address identified issues while aiding the child's adaptation to society.

"Odessa is recognized as a leading city in implementing early intervention services. The collaboration of specialists will contribute to improving health and enhancing the quality of life for children in need of early intervention services," stated Tatiana Kutas, UNICEF's Early Intervention Project Coordinator.
