On Friday, May 16, Ukrainian and Russian delegations will meet in Istanbul, joined by representatives from the United States and Turkey.

This information was reported by the Turkish news agency Anadolu, citing sources in the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to Anadolu, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will attend the meeting, while the US delegation will be led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

No official confirmations regarding these negotiations in this format for Friday have been made yet.

For these talks, initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russia sent a low-level delegation headed by Putin's assistant Vladimir Medinsky.

Given this situation, Secretary of State Marco Rubio does not see opportunities for breakthroughs in the negotiations between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations in Istanbul.

Meanwhile, on May 15, Volodymyr Zelensky approved the composition of the Ukrainian delegation for negotiations in Istanbul, led by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
