Famous player of Kyiv Dynamo, Andriy Yarmolenko, has announced plans to retire at the end of the 2025/26 season.

Yarmolenko shared this information in an interview with the YouTube channel "Football Review".

"I had a conversation with the head coach and the club president. It was important for me to hear that I am still needed by the team. I don’t want to stay in the club based on past achievements. When I heard from the coach and president that they count on me, I realized I was given a chance. That’s why I signed a new contract for another year. Will this be my last contract? I can confidently say that this will be my final year as a footballer," Yarmolenko stated.

Yarmolenko is a product of Chernihiv football. He played 393 matches for Dynamo and scored 157 goals, which is the third highest in the club's history. Only Serhiy Rebrov (163 goals) and Oleg Blokhin (265) have more. He also played abroad for Borussia Dortmund, Al Ain, and West Ham.

In addition, he is a legend of the Ukrainian national team. Yarmolenko has 125 appearances and 46 goals, placing him second in history. Excluding the traitor Anatoliy Tymoshchuk, Yarmolenko holds the record for the most matches played for the national team.
