From October 20 to 27, 2025, the Youth World Championship in Greco-Roman, women's, and freestyle wrestling for athletes under 23 years old took place in Novi Sad, Serbia.
Among the members of the Ukrainian national team, Odesa's Ruslan Abdiyev made a notable performance, competing in the 82 kg weight category and winning a silver medal while demonstrating exceptional skills, endurance, and sportsmanship.
Ruslan represents the 9th Sports Club of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. His coaches, Viktor Klintzov and Yuriy Prokofiev, prepared him for the competition.
As a result of the Greco-Roman wrestling tournament, the Ukrainian team secured the second overall position among 44 countries, achieving two gold and two silver medals.
