On October 19, 2024, the final stage of the national cross-country championships was held in Victory Park, Odesa. The competition featured 12 age categories among boys, girls, juniors, and youth at distances of 1, 3, 4, 6, and 8 km.
More than 60 qualified athletes from various regions of Ukraine participated, including athletes from Odesa.
In the 1 km distance, the best times were recorded by Odesa athletes Yelyzaveta Sheremeta (4:29) and Andriy Zasnov (4:55).
For the 3 km distance, the fastest were Ksenia Danyliuk (19:54) and Vyacheslav Balashov (14:00).
Volodymyr Peresunko achieved the best result in the 4 km race with a time of 29:48.
In the 6 km distance, Hanna Hilianchuk took 2nd place, losing to an athlete from Chernihiv, while Roman Stoyanov secured 1st place in the 8 km race with a time of 30:19.
Based on the results of the four stages and the final, the national team of Ukraine will be selected to compete in the European Championship, scheduled for December 8 in Turkey.
The event was organized by the Ukrainian Athletics Federation in collaboration with the SEASIDE RUNNERS ODS and with the support of the Odesa City Council.
