Google has officially confirmed that the stable version of Android 16 will be available in June 2025. This announcement was made by Allen Huang, the product management director for Pixel and Android's system interface, during a briefing ahead of The Android Show, according to Android Authority.

He also mentioned that the updated Material 3 Expressive design will be released later this year, initially for Pixel devices. However, this change will not be part of the public release of Android 16 in June.

While the exact launch date for the operating system has not been disclosed, there have been unofficial reports suggesting a release on June 3. Google is expected to provide more details during the I/O conference starting May 20.

Following the release of Android 16 for Pixel, other manufacturers will gradually announce their updates as well. Notably, Samsung is preparing a beta version of One UI 8 based on Android 16.

Additionally, The Android Show announced the integration of the AI assistant Gemini into Android Auto and the new Wear OS 6 based on Android 16.
