Odesa has completed the upgrade of another tram, now equipped with a unique lift for individuals with disabilities.
The "Odesacityelectrotrans" has finished modernizing a «Tatra» tram that will soon be operational on city routes.
This updated tram features a proprietary design by local specialists that has enabled the installation of a modern lift for passengers with mobility challenges. The lifts were showcased to an Odesa delegation during their visit to the InnoTrans - 2024 international transport exhibition in Berlin. The mayor of Odesa noted that this exemplifies successful international cooperation.
The design has passed technical testing and received positive feedback from ambassadors of the «Barrier-Free Movement» initiative. The company is currently in the process of patenting the development.
«We are not just upgrading transport; we are creating comfort and accessibility for every resident. Such projects have become the norm for Odesa, but I know the tremendous effort that goes into each result,» said the mayor of Odesa.
The modernized tram is ready to hit the routes, while specialists are working on further enhancements.
