Odessa is a region renowned for its unique architectural heritage, boasting over 2000 cultural landmarks.

Many of these require updates focusing on inclusivity for everyone.

The Mayor of Odessa, Gennadiy Trukhanov, and his advisor on barrier-free spaces, Oleksiy Morozov, met with Artem Moiseenko, a Kyiv architect specializing in inclusive architecture.

The city intends to apply for a competition on barrier-free route projects. The discussions centered around tourist routes in the historic center of Odessa.

Particularly, the conversation addressed the creation of adapted routes, installation of navigational signs, ramps, and handrails that will ensure comfort and safety for all urban space users.

Participants also considered the full architectural accessibility of the Odessa City Council building.
