On November 8, 2024, the UNION International Cultural Center hosted a gala evening dedicated to the international jazz competition host Elena Shevchenko, titled "About Jazz and More".
For her significant contributions to the arts and culture, Elena was awarded a valuable gift from the Mayor of Odessa and a Certificate of Appreciation from the Department of Culture.
A musicologist and instructor, Elena is recognized for her expertise in music history and jazz, and she is the founder of the VKO jazz club named after M. Holoschapov, earning her the title of "Lady Jazz".
During the creative evening, her students and colleagues presented various jazz performances, and young musicians from Art Schools No. 1, 3, and 4 showcased their talent.
The evening concluded with a traditional jam session that delighted all attendees.
