Odessa National University named after I.I. Mechnikov has achieved third place among the best universities in Ukraine in the recent higher education ranking for 2024.
This was reported by the educational portal «Osvita.ua»
According to the new data, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv continues to lead the rankings, maintaining its position as the top higher education institution in Ukraine for the ninth consecutive year.
It is worth noting that in 2023, ONU named after Mechnikov was in eighth place.
The 2024 ranking includes a total of 235 higher education institutions in Ukraine.
To compile the ranking, data from the most reputable national rankings such as «Top-200 Ukraine», «Scopus», and «NMT Score for Contracts» are utilized, each applying different evaluation criteria.
Earlier, Odessa State Environmental University (ODEKU) ranked 15th among all universities in Ukraine based on efficiency.
At the beginning of 2024, it was announced that the Ministry of Education intends to merge ODEKU and the Physico-Chemical Institute for Environmental Protection with Odessa National University named after I.I. Mechnikov.
