A modern emergency, urgent, and trauma care department has been established at City Clinical Hospital No. 3 in Odesa, marking the first pediatric trauma unit in the Peresyp district.
Comfortable conditions have been created for patients and medical staff, with the latest medical equipment purchased and all beds equipped with oxygen points. Special attention was paid to accessibility and inclusivity during the renovation.
Surgical interventions began in December 2023, with around 150 surgeries performed, including over 100 ENT procedures.
In 2024, the new emergency, urgent, and trauma care department, along with the surgical and endoscopic units, operated at full capacity. Approximately 1000 surgical interventions, over 800 trauma procedures, and about 70 endoscopic examinations have already been conducted.
In total, 2735 young patients have been admitted to the updated departments: 1375 children to the surgical unit and 1360 children to the trauma unit. The high quality of medical care is evidenced by the absence of complications following surgeries.
The children's hospital has also established a modern reception and diagnostic department with isolated Melczer boxes, ensuring a high level of infection control and preventing the spread of hospital-acquired infections.
Little residents of Odesa now have a state-of-the-art children's clinic where qualified medical professionals provide quality medical care under the state medical guarantee program.
