From November 27 to 30, Cairo, Egypt hosted the World Karate Championship, featuring 384 athletes (192 men and 192 women) from 88 countries.

Ukrainian karate star, Angelika Terlyuga, impressively won a bronze medal in the women's under 55 kg category.

After a quarter-final loss to Egyptian competitor Ahlam Youssef (3:8), Angelika had the opportunity to compete for bronze since her rival reached the final. In the medal match, she defeated Valentina Toro Meneses from Chile (ranked No. 2 in the WKF world standings) with a score of 6:4, showcasing her determination, skill, and unwavering willpower.

Following the birth of her child this year, Angelika has already proven her high level of performance by winning a silver medal at the World Games in Chengdu, China.
