On November 22-23, Uzhgorod hosted an exciting Ukrainian judo championship for cadets under 17 years old.

Over two days, nearly 600 young athletes from 23 regions of the country competed on the tatami of the Uzhgorod Scientific Lyceum, contending for 17 sets of medals.

In the overall team standings, the team from Odesa, consisting of athletes from sports schools No. 4 and No. 15, as well as the regional Judo and Rugby School, secured third place with 3 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals.

The champions of the event were representatives from Kyiv (5-4-4), with Dnipropetrovsk region team coming in second (3-1-5).

Contributions to the team’s success came from Odesa athletes Valeriia Kanikivska (70 kg) and Kyrylo Vasylinych (73 kg) from Sports School No. 4, earning silver and bronze medals respectively.

Coach Serhii Yermakov prepared the athletes for this competition.
